What you'll experience
23 km of the coldest water in Europe.
The Neretva drops 270 metres over our 23 km rafting stretch — long enough for a proper descent, mellow enough for first-timers.
Most of the route is grade I–II with two grade III sections you’ll remember. The water is cold (12–14 °C even in August) and so clear you can see the bottom in the calm stretches.
The tour starts and ends in Konjic. From Mostar: train or bus (~1h, €5–7) — both run hourly along the scenic Neretva canyon, and many guests treat the ride as part of the experience. From Sarajevo: train or bus (~1h 15min, €8–12). Free pickup at the Konjic train or bus station at 09:30 — tell us your arrival time at booking. Or self-drive — free parking at the rafting base.
Don’t want to handle public transport? Add a private transfer: round-trip from Mostar ~€50/vehicle (1–4 pax), from Sarajevo ~€90/vehicle. WhatsApp us at booking to confirm.
Pickup at the Konjic station at 09:30. Traditional Bosnian breakfast, gear up, then a 60-minute scenic drive to Glavatičevo where rafts launch at noon. Two hours of paddling, a 30-minute swim stop at the Rakitnica canyon, another hour back to base. Hot showers, then a traditional Bosnian lunch before drop-off at the Konjic station at 17:30.
Everything included — wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, breakfast, lunch, transport to launch, photos. Children 10+ welcome on family-rated dates. May–October only; June–September is peak.
WhatsApp +387 61 209 388 with your origin city + arrival time for a confirmed booking (and transfer pricing if you want us to drive).

Town of diverse cultures, ethnic and religious minorities, living side by side for century's . Following the 1990s conflicts they still co exist but there are still some tensions. There are Muslims., Roman Catholics and Jews and there are 3 distinct parliaments with their own prime ministers. All must confer with one another , so any new agreements and policy's implemented must all be done in agreement. I can only assume this must take foe ever in these 3 different geographical areas. When I first arrived I felt I was in turkey. The narrow cobbled streets had bazaars. A kind of Asion and European mix of cultures, religions and ethnic groups living side by side. Though most Muslims lived on one side of the river and other religious and ethnic groups lived on the other bank of the river. Mostar is a central geographical place situated on the Neretva River which has historically been a place of co existence. The famous stone bridge was rebuilt over the river in 2004 as a symbol of unification, of reconciliation and international cooperation in a culture of co existence.I loved the busy atmosphere and the quaint buildings, mosques and churches and temples. I had alocal pommegranite drink and some local delicacies of meat on sticks. It was really quite cheap compared to most European, Mediterainean places. I bought loads of lovely souvenirs to remind me of this lovely day out when I met many friendly local people. It's set in such a pretty landscape with a breathtaking backdrop of mountains.

FAQ
Frequently asked
Where does the rafting start? Mostar, Sarajevo, or Konjic?
**The rafting itself launches from Glavatičevo, 35 minutes upstream of Konjic.** We meet at the rafting base just outside Konjic at 09:30. **From Mostar:** 1-hour drive (or 1h 15min train, ~€5; bus 1h 10min, ~€7). **From Sarajevo:** 1.5-hour drive (or 1h 30min train; bus 1h 15min). **Free pickup at Konjic bus or train station** at 09:30 — tell us your arrival time at booking. **Don't want to handle the public transport?** Book our private transfer add-on: ~€50/vehicle round-trip from Mostar, ~€90/vehicle round-trip from Sarajevo.
Can I do this from Sarajevo as a one-day trip?
**Yes — most popular booking type from Sarajevo.** Take the 07:30 train or 08:00 bus from Sarajevo (~1h 15min–1h 30min) → free station pickup at Konjic at 09:30 → rafting day → drop you back at Konjic station at 17:30 → 18:00 train/bus back to Sarajevo, arrive ~19:30. Door-to-door 12-hour day, you spend ~€10 on transport. **For groups of 2+** the private transfer add-on (~€90/vehicle round-trip) often costs less per-person than two train tickets and saves hassle.
Do I need rafting experience?
No. The Neretva is mostly grade I–II with two grade III sections. IRF-certified guides run every raft and shout commands in English. Most of our guests have never rafted before. Children 10+ welcome on family-friendly dates (May–Sept).
How cold is the water?
Cold — 12–14 °C even in August. That's why the neoprene suit, helmet, and shoes are included. You stay warm while paddling. The Rakitnica swim stop is bracing but fun; bring a quick-dry towel.
What should I bring?
Swimsuit (under the wetsuit), quick-dry towel, sunscreen, hat for the bus ride. Small day bag — leave wallet/phone in the lockers at base. Bring 10–20 EUR cash for souvenirs or extra drinks. We provide everything else.
Is there a minimum age?
Officially 10 years old. We run family rafts (gentler grade I–II sections only) for kids 10–14 with a parent on the same raft. Under 10 isn't safe even on the easy stretches — sorry. Adults up to 70 do this regularly; you just need to be in OK health.
What if I can't swim?
You'll wear a life jacket the entire time on the water — non-swimmers can do this tour. Tell the guide before launch and they'll position you in a safe seat. Most tours have at least one non-swimmer.
Is breakfast and lunch really included?
Yes — both are traditional Bosnian and substantial. Breakfast at the rafting base: a hot main, bread, spreads, coffee. Lunch after the river: a traditional Bosnian main with salad and dessert. Vegetarian on request 24 hours before. Drinks (juice, beer, rakija) are extra €2–4.
What if it rains?
We run in light rain — you're already getting wet. Heavy storms or river flooding (very rare): we reschedule for free or refund 100%. The river is safest in May–early October; outside that we run only on warm days.
Will I get photos?
Yes — included. Our guides shoot from the rafts and the canyon edges. You'll get a WhatsApp link to a folder of high-res JPGs the same evening (or by next morning at the latest). Free for life — share with friends, no watermark.
