Dubrovnik to Mostar Day Trip, a great way to Experience Bosnia-Herzegovina’s most beautiful city.
Dubrovnik to Mostar Day Trip
Dubrovnik to Mostar Day Trip: Bosnia Herzegovina is a beautiful country and Mostar is a hidden gem.
Having said that, I must sadly add that due to limited resources of the Bosnia Herzegovina Tourism Authority, neither Bosnia Herzegovina nor Mostar, do get the necessary international promotion.
On the other side, Croatia, our neighboring country, in the past few years had a massive boom in tourism and gets to show off in all of its glory. Every year millions of tourist come and enjoy the Croatian coast line and Dubrovnik, also known as the Perl of the Adriatic.
As you now probably know, a big time HBO TV Show – Game of Thrones was filmed in Dubrovnik. Also, the latest movie filmed in Dubrovnik is Leonardo DiCaprio’s Robin Hood remake . So, you see, Croatia has became a big time tourist destination, that has something to cater for everybody. And we rely on our Croatian neighbors to introduce Mostar to all of you wonderful people from different corners of the earth.
From my conversations with travelers I met on my tours, I’ve learned that people usually book a holiday in Croatia and when they settle down, spend a few days at the beach, do some local excursions, and than they find out about Bosnia and Mostar Day Trip . Their hosts or receptionists probably show them a poster for Dubrovnik to Mostar Day Trip, they get interested, check some facts about Mostar on Internet and they are ready to book a Mostar Day Trip.
What to look out for
You have decided to come and explore Mostar in a day and you are looking at different offers and prices. If you search on Google or TripAdvisor, you will find many different offers and inclusions. Some of them will include a lunch or entrance to a Mosque. Others might even include a Bridge Diver performing the famous and breathtaking Mostar’s Bridge Dive. Some offers might include a local guide, others just a tour leader.
I would always advise to opt for a local guide on your Dubrovnik to Mostar Day Trip. Local guides are real local people, Mostar born, they truly feel the city as their own. Local guides have also have a unique way of transferring their knowledge and experience.
Visiting sites on the way to Mostar
The second thing I would pay attention to would be the sites that you can visit along the way. What I mean is that some offers include stops in Pocitelj, others make a stop at Kravice Waterfalls Nature Park. Now, depending on the time of the year, it is better to make a stop at one or the other. If you plan your Dubrovnik to Mostar Day Trip in the summer months, than by all means, make a stop to appreciate Kravice Waterfalls, a pearl among the most fascinating natural attractions of the region.
Soak in the sparkling waterfalls, where waters of the Trebižat River branch out, cascading from 30 m high tuff walls, forming a natural amphitheater 200 m wide, creating spectacular effects that bring to mind, even if in a more modest dimension, the imposing Niagara Falls.
May to October, one can even plunge into the refreshing emerald waters of the lake beneath the waterfall!
